T-SLOT VACUUM ROTARY - RFR

(Router-Flat Rack & Pinion- 3000x2000x300- Vacuum & T-Slot-Rotary 4th axis)

Our flagship nesting router comes with a huge range of options. This machine is a Rack and Pinion driven router, that has a Tufnol vacuum table WITH T-Slots. This allows you to fasten down almost anything to the bed.

This machine features a precision Rotary 4th Axis (‘lathe’). That has a maximum torque of 700 Nm and drives a 160mm chuck with a throat of 40mm.

The frame is heavy steel expertly welded before the linear rail grooves are machined into the steel, as well as the top of the machine is machined to within 40 microns.

This concept results in a system that will give many years of solid performance. These machines are driven by Servo motors and are controlled by Masso.

Our electric boxes are under positive pressure to keep them cool and to stop dust ingress. In short, 3 CNC machines in one!

Used For:

  • Plastic / Wood / Non-Ferrous / Composites.
  • Cutting Nested Sheets.
  • Cutting scrolls / Gears.
  • 2D / 3D Work

Our standard range of machines come with various options. This is an example of our Rack & Pinion driven router that has a Tufnol vacuum table with a 9kW side channel vacuum blower. All our Z axis movements utilize Ball-screws to attain the highest accuracy.

The frame is expertly welded and manufactured with heavy steel – before the linear rail grooves are machined and embedded into the steel frame, this ensures up to 20-micron accuracy. The result of this manufacturing system is that it offers years of hassle-free, solid and accurate performance. All our machines are driven by Servo motors and are controlled by Mach 4.

Our electric boxes have positive pressure to keep them cool and to stop dust ingress.

Aluminum Extrusion Part-Maker - AEP

(including Solar Panel cutting applications)

The standard frame is a rigid welded steel square tubing frame and is approximately 4000 mm x 700 mm. There are no items protruding from this frame.

  • Chuck size: – The aperture of the chuck will be 80mm diameter. This means that the maximum size material that the machine can handle must be able to pass through an 80mm diameter hole.
  • Linear Movements: – All linear movements will be on square type linear bearings and the method of movement will be by a ball-screw.
  • Y-Axis: – The moving chuck is the Y-Axis. The material is clamped in this chuck with clamping bolts.
  • X-Axis: – The spindle is mounted on one plate which moves the depth of the machine. This axis is used to move the cutter during operation
  • Z-Axis: – The spindle is raised and lowered by the Z axis
  • B-Axis: – The tapping is done by a stepper motor which drives a ER20 chuck.
  • C-Axis: – The cut-off saw is raised and lowered by the C-axis.
  • Cut-Off saw: – The machine will use an off the shelf, 500 mm diameter carbide blade for cutting the aluminum profile. There is a support chuck of the LHS of the machine that holds the workpiece while it is being cut-off.
  • Control is done with a CS Labs 6 axis CNC controller.
  • Tool Cooling/lubrication system. Recirculating Flood lubrication will be used to lengthen the life of the cutters and to increase the finish on the workpiece.
  • Tool height can be set by adjusting the tool in the chuck so that it touches a mechanical setting block or automatic tool probing.
  • The machine is supplied with an exit conveyor to remove completed product

ALUMINUM EXTRUSION MACHINING CENTRE

(Extrusion Machining Centre)

The Aluminum Extrusion Machining Centre will quickly make parts for Doors and Windows from your extrusions.

The material is held by pneumatic clamps while the machine makes holes and slots on 3 sides of the extrusion using aggregate gearboxes to do the sides. This machine is ideally suited to companies that make high production quantities of aluminum parts.

The unit is usually supplied with an ATC allowing it to complete the part without human intervention once the G-Code has been started.

MOVING TABLE ROUTER -RMB

(Router Moving Table Ballscrew 800 x 600 x 300)

Unican-Enclosed-Router

Want something small, that makes no mess and can really do some work?

The Unicam Moving Table Routers give you the greatest precision down to 20 microns. These machines are completely ball screw driven. The ball screws are hidden behind sliding covers that prevent dust ingress. The moving is mounted above a dust collection funnel, and the dust is then collected in a removable tray or sucked into a dust collection system.

We have customers that use these machines mostly for aluminum and composite mould prototyping, but we also have one that produces custom and production frames for glasses.

The table can hold jigs, a vice, vacuum table and T-Slots.

CUSTOM 5 AXIS MOVING TABLE - R5M

(R5M30-20-10 Router Five Axis Moving Table)

Unicam 5 Axis Router

The Unicam 5 Axis system is designed to give you full use of the table size to cut on. This 5-axis cnc router allows cutting or milling on any of the five sides of an object (X/Y/Z/A/C). In addition to automatic movements along the X, Y, and Z axes, it can rotate around the X, Y and Z axes.

The table surface is steel and has T-Slots for mounting onto it.

The Hiteco BiRotary head is a KPX 100 or a JQX 85.

The purpose of the machine is to  create life size or scaled models of products so that molds can be made from it, or to create an accurate prototype of something before it gets built.

To describe a real world example of a use for this machine. consider machining a full size version of a canopy for a utility vehicle (bakkie). Fitting the windows and hinges to it. Then fitting it on the vehicle to test how well it fits. When the designers are happy with the prototype, it can be disassembled and the machined part used to make the molds for the canopy.

Oscillating Knife - KFR

(Oscillating Tangential Knife Flat Rack & Pinion – KFR30-20-10

Unicam Oscilating Knife

High speed cutting of materials such as leather, foams, rubber, vinyl. This machine uses a carbide blade that moves up and down to cut the material.

It can cut square corners as well as curves. The blade rotates while the knife is cutting so that the sharp edge is always leading the knife into the material. Not material is removed in the process, the material is just parted.

Used Vacuum Table to hold non Porous Materials

Used For:

  • Cutting Foam, Leather, plastic, some fabrics, vinyl.

Basic Specs:

  • Professional EOT-3 Oscillating knife unit.
  • Geared Stepper Motors
  • Professional sacrificial mat to place under material being cut.

Table Sizes:

  • 3000 x 2000
  • 2500 x 1250

CNC SHAPER - RSS

(Fully Closed loop system to automate your mill)

Unicam CNC Shaper

Highly accurate repeatable shapes can be cut on this system. The blank is placed between centers and the vacuum cup supports are raised until the suckers attach themselves, and are then locked in position. The machine then machines the one side of the board. the board is then flipped over by dropping the vacuum cup supports, swinging the board 180 degrees, and then re engaging the vacuum supports again. The machine then machines the other side of the board.

If you are machining a surfboard, the rails can be machined so that there is no crossover on the rails.

Used For:

  • Surf Board.

AUTO FEED CUTOFF SAW - SAF

(SAF – 6000-150-150)

Unicam's Autofeed Cut Off Saw

This machine cuts the material into fixed length pieces, or it can cut a fixed distance from a hole in the material.

When cutting fixed length the cutting repeatability is within 40 microns.

When cutting according to a feature (a hole), a sensor detects the feature and  then the machine feeds a fixed length from the detected feature. This allows you to machine features such as cut-outs into the full length of a material, and then cut it according to that feature.

An example would be if we were making door hinges, we could first machine all the holes and cut-outs into the profile on one of our Extrusion Machining Centres and then cut the length of the material as a second production step. This would reduce amount of work that each machine has to do, and could possibly improve efficiency of the overall production throughput.
